This is a logo I designed for a directed study in my last semester of college.

Fund management company based in Dubai, focused on exotic emerging markets: Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.

"Jadara" is an Arabic word meaning: merit, competence, worthiness, leadership. We have tried out a lot of ideas, but finally we settled on the symbol of an olive tree, suggested by the client. It conveys most important Jadara values - strength, determination, wisdom, stability and sustained growth. The symbol has been matched with lettering that subtly reminds Arabic typography.

Work project - 2011

This I did for my current job, an internal-circulation digital magazine to help promote inter-disciplinary camaraderie, conscientious appreciation of all currentblah blah corporate pep-talk blah.

Yeah... the name (which means Behind the Books in English) comes from the idea of trying to get workers to appreciate all the work that goes into the making of the elementary and junior high grade level books we make; which actually IS a pretty good idea :P

For a Marketing/PR Company. The concept behind the mark is based on the age-old alchemic practice of attempting to artificially mass produce gold by way of fusion/synthesis with other elements. Since gold has only one stable isotope (the element Au) a massive chemical reaction would need to occur to generate this isotope. There is only x3 active protons difference between Lead & Gold. They're 'chemically' different...reaction to solvents, melting temp, etc...but, if you were to extract those x3 protons from lead theoretically, you would have gold. Things like American Idol employ this 'extraction' tactic...slowly removing the unnecessary protons (contestants) till they have their 'golden result' - a season winner.
